Melissa Cavender a Native American-Tulalip Tribal Member Born and raised in Everett, Washington by her adopted family Alice and Justus Cavender. Melissa was raised a sibling of two brothers and two sisters. She is the youngest child of eleven children that the Cavenders had adopted and fostered.

 

Melissa graduated from High School in Everett, Washington and continued her education at Columbia College with her AA Degree in Business. As a long term goal career was on her mind she went from being a automotive mechanic, union cook, dump truck and long haul truck driver to a (OSHA) Occupational Health and Safety Professional in Construction and General Industries. Her certificates include First Aid Lay Responder, Industrial Hygienist, Fall protection and crane operator instructor to finishing her endeavors by applying and becoming a union heavy equipment operator. She has excelled at Project Management, Finance, Payroll, Safety, and Small Business Management. But, Being closer to Mother Earth was her adventure and her team of five family members see her joy!!
